Gaston County Jamboree 2017 Results

Stuart Cramer 7 – East Lincoln 0: It was a stalemate most of the game between the two. But late in the second quarter, the Storm broke through with a one-yard touchdown run by Kaiser Kayton to break the stalemate. Devin Baldwin’s kick made it 7-0. That would be the only score in the game as these two capped out the night at Stuart Cramer’s stadium.

Hunter Huss 14 – North Lincoln 0 (1 quarter): With Hunter Huss’s opponent for the Jamboree backing out, the Huskies were looking for someone to play in their place. North Lincoln agreed to play one quarter with the Huskies after their scrimmage with North Gaston. The Huskies moved the ball with ease and the Knights could not get anything going. Kendall Corry got the Huskies on the board with a six-yard touchdown run. The Huskies extended the lead with a 51-yard touchdown pass from Zo Wallace to Saveon Falls. Trevor Hargett was 2-for-2 with his extra points.

North Gaston 21 – North Lincoln 16: It was a battle of the North. In this match-up, it was North Lincoln who struck first. The Knights got on the board quickly with a Reed McRorie 89-yard touchdown pass to Caleb Holley. They went for two on the conversion but failed. The Wildcats struck back with a 14-yard run by Qavius Chambers. Michael Chafin’s kick gave the Wildcats the 7-6 lead. The Knights took the lead back with a two-yard touchdown pass from McRorie to Ryan Dolan. Christian Delaney’s extra point made it 13-7. Delaney extended the lead with a 23-yard field goal. But the Wildcats took the game over with a 27-yard touchdown run by Isaiah McNeil and a 67-yard run by Kareem Kennedy. Chafin was 3-for-3 on his extra points.

Porter Ridge 14 – Ashbrook 6: This game had multiple turnovers by both teams. But in the end, it was the Pirates who escaped with the victory. William Kilgo got the Pirates on the board first with a five-yard touchdown run. Jared Wheatley’s extra point made the score 7-0. The Green Wave answered that with a score of their own. A 37-yard run by Hayden Welle cut the lead to 7-6. The two-point conversion failed, however. Kirkland Harris would add to the Pirates’ lead with an 11-yard run. Wheatley would go 2-for-2 on his extra point kicks.

Carolina Pride 21 – Highland Tech 6: It was a tough outing for the Rams as they were down 14-0 midway through the first quarter. The Rams got on the board with a touchdown run by Bryson Law. But that would be the only score the Rams could muster up as they fell in the opening game.
