Vance would recover two West Mecklenburg fumbles and would
stop the bleeding in the second quarter. The Cougars cut the lead to 28-13
midway through the second quarter but it was not enough to save the day for
Vance. The Hawks extended their lead in the third quarter with another
touchdown run by Dyami Brown. This time it was from three yards out. The other
Brown, Preston, would put the game out of reach with a two-yard pass to Joshua
Hudson. Christian Alvarez was 6-for-6 on his extra point kicks.
The Cougars did score an oh-by-the-touchdown as the buzzer
sounded when quarterback Nigel Summerville hit Jaylon Riley for a 28-yard
touchdown pass. That made the final 42-19 in favor of West Mecklenburg.
