Kannapolis-A.L. Brown @ Shelby: This time last year, the Golden Lions had a tough start of it. They started a new era without long-time head coach Chris Norman. They had to adapt to a new offense and as a result they started off 1-4. After that, however, the Golden Lions came to life and put together five straight victories. They won eight out of their last ten as they advanced to the fourth round of the state 2AA playoffs. The Wonders also had a deep playoff run and finished the season 12-2. They could make it no further than the third round, though. Tonight will start a new beginning for these two powerhouses as they face off in Shelby.
